It’s an Election, not Reality TV

BlackAmericaWeb.com is reporting that South Florida Blacks are still “seething” from 2000 and seek to drive Bush from office.
This is not Survivor, where the contestant with the most votes is kicked off the island. You vote for a candidate because you want him to be president, not because you don’t want that other guy to win. Were Democrats using their brain during the primaries when they were picking their candidate? At that time “electablilty” seemed more important than the actual issues.
Now they’re left with a candidate who can’t give a coherent answer about whether or not he wiped his ass this morning. What brand of toilet paper does he prefer? It depends who he’s talking to. He tells the Charmin people that he prefers their brand because of its quilted goodness. Across town the next week he tells the Angel Soft people that he’s used their brand his whole life.
Is Kerry going to get a free ride all the way to the White House because he’s not Bush? I haven’t met a Democrat yet that can tell me why they’re voting for Kerry.
So you don’t want Bush to be elected to another term. Is it because you want someone who stands for something else specifically? Does Kerry stand for these issues? Is he even close? If you can answer yes, then fine. If you don’t know, then why are you voting for him?
Clinton didn’t win the 1992 election because he wasn’t Bush #41. He won because he had a distinct position and people believed in is policies.
God help us if a few idiot voters choose our country’s next president by treating the election like a reality game show.
